Paddy has three very different musical projects: The Dusk Ensemble, The Paris Swinging Lovers, and Ellen & Paddy.
The Dusk Ensemble
Dusk is Paddy's most recent album, a series of songs he wrote while wintering in Senegal a couple of years ago.
The album was produced by Brisa Roché and released on Black Ash Records. It was named Album of the Month by FIP Radio and Album of the Week in Rolling Stone magazine. The Dusk Ensemble features Sal Bernardi (Ricky Lee Jones' band) on piano, Jeff Hallam on bass, Brisa Roché on shared vocals, and Paddy on vocals and guitar.
The Dusk Ensemble is currently back in the studio recording their next album, which is expected to be released in early 2026.
PARIS SWINGING LOVERS
Paddy’s ferocious swing band is truly a fusion of New Orleans, street funk, and beguine grooves. They’ve been rocking Paris for the past 30 years. This is the band that played the legendary Sunday gig at the Coolin for 20 years.
Now, they’re regulars on Sundays at the iconic Caveau de la Huchette (as seen in the film La La Land).
The band features: Claud Braud on tenor sax, Stan Noubard Pascha on guitar, Cesar Pastre on piano, Gerard McFadden on double bass, Jean-Philippe Naeder on percussion, and Stephane Roger on drums.
Hardcore, finger-lickin' good.
Fasten your seatbelt—no prisoners taken!
Ellen & Paddy
Ellen & Paddy is a duet show featuring the charming Swedish jazz diva Ellen Birath and Paddy.
It's the famous meeting between Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong.
A show rich in the complicity and humour between two charismatic performers, showcasing the friendship and fun between the musicians.
Inspired by the iconic Ella and Louis album produced by Norman Granz for Verve Records in 1956, they decided to take a daring step and give it a try.
The band features Cesar Pastre on piano, Jeff Hallam on double bass and Elisabeth Kelejian on drums.
Here is a selection of some of Paddy's other videos
"We all let it happen again and again" – a song written for the people of Gaza.
The Palestinian Ambassador to Ireland, Dr Jilan Wahba Abdalmajid, invited Paddy to the Palestinian Embassy in Dublin to personally thank him for writing the song. The Palestinian Embassy in Hungary has since posted the song with Arabic subtitles, garnering tens of thousands of views on its Instagram.
"Take Me Back to Those Summers in Dublin" – Paddy's ode to the Dublin of the 1980s, the city of his youth.
The characters, the places, the madness...
"Like a Diamond" - The single from the DUSK album.
"Tzar-Kozy" – A political satire about the President of France and convicted criminal, Nicolas Sarkozy.
Paddy is proud that when Canal+ wanted to broadcast it, the video was banned from television in France.
An oldie: "Swing Your Blues Away." A film of Paddy's song, written and directed by Jethro Massey.
A bit of fun: Ellen and Paddy at Linda McCluskey's Sunday Unplugged gig at the 59 Riv, an artists' squat in Paris.
